Greg Smilski

Executive Director/CEO

Greg Smilski
Greg moved to Saint Simons Island twenty-two years ago to teach at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and twenty-eight years working in federal law enforcement. Since retirement, Greg has been involved in international training; teaching law enforcement officers in the Bahamas, Canada, Botswana, Nigeria, and Guatemala. Greg's volunteer ministry includes: Manna House, Hospital Visitor and he is a five-year veteran of the International Seafarers' Center. Greg is a Diaconate Candidate for the Diocese of Savannah and is currently working on his Masters Degree in Theology. He recently completed the Houston Maritime Chaplaincy Training Program conducted at the Port of Houston, Texas.
 


Robert Randall II

Director of Volunteer Services

Randall
Robert began his career with the United Methodist Church doing conference-level youth and young adult ministry in Georgia and Florida. Robert's Christian faith includes 38 years in the peace and environmental movements. His many years of organizing experience make Robert a natural for coordinating volunteers. His work history includes temp work, sales, self-employment, social services, and mental health. He and his wife of 32 years have lived in Glynn County, where she grew up, since the late 1980's.

Among his guilty pleasures are chocolate and ice cream.
 



Jim Adkins

Port Chaplain

Jim Adkins
Jim is a graduate of Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee.  He attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. His pastoral experience began in 1962, and he has given pastoral care to congregations in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas and Pennsylvania.  Jim served on the staff of Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, a large cross-cultural church for 14 years.  During that time, Jim birthed a number of Christ-centered programs designed to minister healing to the whole person.  Jim and his wife Donna have ministered to groups on marriage, dysfunctional families and other topics related to building and strengthening families.  They also conduct seminars on behavioral analysis and career planning.

In January 1999, just after celebrating his 60th birthday, Jim entered into another phase of his journey in ministry - leading a church planting in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.  In October 2010, Jim joined the staff of Seafarers International in Brunswick, Georgia.
 


Karen MacLeod

Office Administrator

Karen
Karen MacLeod is a graduate of Glynn Academy High School, where she was involved with Key Club, French club, and a member of Beta club. She was previously a volunteer with the local Humane Society. She also has a photography and graphic arts background as well as general office, administrative and financial skills which makes her a great asset to the Center. Her creative and artistic abilities are evident in the many store displays, advertising materials, and newsletters she has created for the Center. Karen is a member of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, and has been involved with the Meta-leadership Summit for Preparedness, the SGHS Bridge Run, & the Golden Isles Maritime Club Golf Tournament.
