Continuing Opportunities

Several ships have agreed for students to conduct interviews, question seafarers, and receive their responses via e-mail, blogs, and skype.

Planning is underway to include The College of Coastal Georgia English Department in the develop of a service learning project whereby college students would participate in seafarer interviews, help the middle school students develop interview questions, etc. Meetings will begin soon to discuss how to integrate the college into the Port-as-Classroom project for the Winter 2011 semester.

THANKS to the dedicated teachers, Wallenius Welhelmsen Logistics employees, International Seafarers' Center Volunteers, and enthuasiactic students who have been instrumental in the success of our first year! We could not have implemented Port-as-Classroom without their dedication to the project!
