Two hospitality centers offer a continuum of services that focus on meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of mariners while their ships are docked at the Port of Brunswick.
Because staff and volunteers keep both centers open every day of the year seafarers may contact loved ones through the centers’ telephone banks and email access. They can mail letters, wire transfer money home, buy personal items and native foods or just relax.
In light of the competition in today’s global economy, the Seafarers’ Center contributes to our port’s competitive edge by caring for the men and women who crew the vessels that are so vital to our local and regional economies.
Our International Seafarers’ Center has gained an international reputation among seafarers and the shipping community, not only for our hospitality but also for our human rights advocacy.
